NEW YORK, NY – October 11, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –  Nearly 4,000 sci-fi fans jammed into the grand ballroom at New York’s Javits Center on Saturday at the New York Comic Con, to relive some memories with the cast of “Firefly.”

Stars Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres and Jewel Staite took the stage to a thunderous applause.

“Firefly” lasted only one season from 2002-2003 on Fox and focused on Captain Malcolm ‘Mal’ Reynolds (Fillion) a former galactic war veteran who is the captain of the transport ship “Serenity.”

Mal and his crew, ensign Zoe Alleyne Washburne (Torres); Zoe’s husband, pilot Hoban ‘Wash’ Washburne(Tudyk); muscular mercenary Jayne Cobb (Adam Baldwin); young mechanic Kaylee Frye (Staite); former Alliance medical officer Simon Tam (Sean Maher); his disturbed teenage sister River (Summer Glau); the beautiful courtesan Inara Serra (Morena Baccarin); and preacher Shepherd Book (Ron Glass) do any jobs, legal or illegal, they can find as the ‘Serenity’ crew travels across the outskirts of outer space.

Then the cast dropped a bombshell saying they would be open to star in a second season, if it was offered. The entire room jumped to its feet and greeted the announcement with screams and applause.

After the excitement died down, the cast bantered back and forth with fans asking questions about the series and the film.
