‘Game Of Thrones,’ ‘Americans,’ ‘People V. O.J. Simpson’ Earn Top Emmy Nominations

LOS ANGELES, July 14 (UPI) — Anthony Anderson helped read the names of Emmy Award nominees Thursday morning, shrieking with delight when he heard his own name, as well as that of his show “black-ish” and the sitcom’s co-star Tracee Ellis Ross.

The program will compete with “Master of None,” “Modern Family,” “Silicon Valley,” “Transparent,” “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Veep” for the Best Comedy Series Emmy.

The medieval fantasy series “Game of Thrones” led the Emmy field with 23 nods, including a mention for Best Drama.
