MILAN, Italy, Sept. 22 (UPI) — Model Gigi Hadid was assaulted by a man who broke through security and ambushed her from behind as she was exiting the Max Mara show in Milan on Thursday.

Hadid was walking through the crowd hand-in-hand with her sister Bella when a man pushed through the crowd and grabbed her from behind, lifting her into the air.

Hadid fought back, elbowing the man in the head before he ran back into the crowd.

She defended herself on Twitter saying she “had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he had the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho.”
