‘Jem and the Holograms’ are among Hasbro series that will soon disappear from Netflix.
“Bronies” everywhere will surely revolt, but G.I. Joe, Pound Puppies and Chuck and Friends are also coming off the platform.
The streaming site dropped Nickelodeon shows in 2013 for similar reasons, and Nick shows later showed up on Amazon Prime Instant Video.
“Netflix has such a broad set of content that no one vendor accounts for a significant amount of viewing on a consistent basis,” spokeswoman Jenny McCabe says.
But Netflix has made an aggressive push into kids programming with DreamWorks Animation and several other original series. And its agreements to stream My Little Pony: Equestria Girls and Transformers Prime movies aren’t part of the current Hasbro deal and will remain available.
