‘Hobbit’ Actor Manu Bennett Arrested for Assault

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – September 15, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Actor and stuntman Manu Bennett, who starred as Azog in “The Hobbit” series and “Deathstroke” in Arrow, was arrested for assault on Sunday in San Antonio.

People.com is reporting the 45-year-old actor was taken into custody after allegedly “punching a 29-year-old male during a disturbance at a party,” shortly after 4.30 a.m. Sunday. Bennett was held on a $1,600 bond.

Bennett, a favorite and regular guest of the Salt Lake Comic Con, was scheduled to attend the Alamo City Comic Con to meet fans and sign autographs on Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to his roles as Azog and Deathstroke, Bennett also appeared as Crixus in the Starz series ‘Spartacus’ and as Allanon in MTV’s upcoming series ‘The Shannara Chronicles.’
