Is A Revival of “Full House” In The Cards?
Variety is reporting that Netflix is close to making a deal to revive the ABC sitcom “Full House,” which originally ran from 1987 to 1995 (yes, it really ended 20 years ago, and yes, that does mean you are getting old.) The show made stars out of Bob Saget and John Stamos, who later became well known for “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “ER,” respectively.
The new series would be called “Fuller House,” and this time around the focus would be on oldest daughter Donna Jo “D.J.” Tanner and her best friend, Kimmy Gibbler, who were played by young actresses Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, who later became well known for being former stars of “Full House.” Some of the other cast members are rumored to be in talks to make guest appearances.
Syndicated reruns of the original show have aired on Nickelodeon channels like The N and Teen Nick before landing at Nick at Nite, where it has averaged about 1.2 million viewers Monday through Wednesday of this week.
“Full House” was created by Jeff Franklin, also starred Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (who later went on to be blamed by some of your weirder Facebook friends for the death of Heath Ledger.).
