Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson reunite at 2017 Oscars

Feb. 28 (UPI) — “Fifty Shades Darker” stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reunited Sunday at the 2017 Academy Awards.

The 34-year-old Northern Irish actor presented an award with the 27-year-old American actress at the ceremony after walking the red carpet with wife Amelia Warner.

Dornan and Johnson play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the “Fifty Shades” movies. The pair shared an awkward moment before announcing David Wasco and Sandy Reynolds-Wasco of “La La Land” as the Best Production Design winners.

“You look familiar,” the actress greeted Dornan.

“Hmm, I’m sure I do,” he responded.

Dornan had discussed his on-set dynamic with Johnson, who stunned in a gold Gucci gown, in an interview with E! News prior to the awards show. The “Fifty Shades” films are based on the erotic book trilogy by E.L. James and feature plenty of steamy sex scenes.

“You have to [keep it light on set]. Especially those kind of scenes — sex scenes — they’re so inherently awkward,” the actor admitted. “Humor is always bubbling just below it, so Dakota and I make a point of kind of making that humor rise.”

“Dakota and I know how to make each other laugh very easily, so that helps,” he added before joking, “[I’m presenting with her tonight and] I hope she’s not wearing really tall heels.”

“Fifty Shades Darker” opened in theaters this month, and has earned over $328 million at the box office. The movie was preceded by “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015), and will be followed by “Fifty Shades Freed” in 2018.
