LOS ANGELES – November 12, 2015 — (UPI) — Jennifer Garner portrays a doting mother in the first trailer from her latest project Miracles From Heaven, released Wednesday.
The emotional drama follows the story of a happy family that undergoes extreme tribulation when one of the children becomes mysteriously ill. Directed by Patricia Riggen, the film is based on a book by Christy Beam and is scheduled to hit theaters in March.
Miracles From Heaven is Garner’s first project since announcing her intended divorce from longtime husband, actor Ben Affleck. The former couple shares three children: Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3. Garner worked on the film in Atlanta, Ga. throughout the summer and welcomed frequent visits by her children and estranged husband despite the divorce.
As Miracles From Heaven enters the promotion phase before its March release, Affleck has taken up the role as director of a new project, Live By Night, starring himself, Sienna Miller and Zoe Saldana. Production of the period crime drama continues this week in Lawrence, Mass., NECN reports.
Affleck and Garner announced their split in late June. The 42-year-old actor and 43-year-old actress confirmed the news in a joint statement released at the time assuring they will continue with “love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children.” They started dating in 2004 and married a year later.
