LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) — Despite her Hollywood physique, Jessica Alba stated on “Ellen” Monday that she does not go to the gym.

“You walk up and down and you’re getting exercise, so I didn’t even need to go to the gym — not like I go to the gym, but I was like, I really don’t need to go to the gym,” the actress explained to host Ellen DeGeneres when mentioning how she took her kids trick-or-treating on Halloween.

When DeGeneres questioned the statement, Alba responded by saying “I should go to the gym.”

“You really look horrible. I was going to tell you, you should start taking care of yourself because you really let yourself go,” joked DeGeneres, who then presented the 35-year-old with her recent Shape magazine cover.

“You know how you cover the bits and you know how to [pose]?” Alba said, explaining why she appears to be in shape on the cover. “That’s what I was doing.”

Alba’s comments on “Ellen,” however, contradict statements she made in the October issue of Shape where she detailed her workout regime.

“If I work out four times, I consider it a successful week, but it’s typically more like two to three days a week because that’s what I have time for,” she said in the issue.
