MUNCIE, Ind., Dec. 26 (UPI) — Country singer Rory Feek posted on Facebook a photo of his cancer-stricken wife and stage partner Joey enjoying Christmas Day at home with their loved ones.
“Celebrating Christmas with Joey, surrounded by family. The best gift of all. Thank you Lord,” Rory captioned the photo, which shows Joey smiling and sitting up on a couch, opening presents with her relatives.
In the photo can also be seen festively wrapped gifts, as well as Joey’s empty hospital bed.
Joey, 40, first revealed in June 2014 that she was battling cervical cancer. The Feeks announced in October she had stopped treatment because the disease was spreading so aggressively. She is now under hospice care. The couple have a 22-month-old daughter named Indiana.
