John Krasinski Is Jack Ryan In New Amazon Series

LOS ANGELES, April 30, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — “Jack Ryan” the series is being developed by Carlton Cuse (“Lost,” “Bates Motel”) and Graham Roland (“Fringe,” “The Returned”) and produced by Paramount Television.

It has just secured a series commitment, although there is nothing “green lit” as of yet.

Actor John Krasinski is now attached to the series, according to Deadline.

Krasinski’s credits include “13 Hours,” the indie comedy-drama “The Hollars,” which he directed and stars in, and “Aloha.” The actor also starred in “Promised Land,” “Leatherheads” and “Dreamgirls.”

He also is the executive producer of “Lip Sync Battle,” which grew out of a bit that he did on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Krasinski became a household name as one of the co-stars of “The Office,” along with Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson and Craig Robinson.

Deadline is also reporting, Krasinski already has a track record with Amazon. The online company purchased the film “Manchester By The Sea,” which Krasinski served as executive producer and stars Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams, and Kyle Chandler.

Michael Bay, who worked with Krasinski on the recent big-screen action drama “13 Hours,” is among the show’s executive producers.

This new series about Jack Ryan is being considered a fresh take on the the character and the novels will serve as source material.

Five Jack Ryan movies starring four different actors including Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. The first film was 1990’s “The Hunt for Red October” and the latest, “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” was released in 2014.
