NEW ORLEANS, July 2 (UPI) — John Malkovich has joined the cast of “Supercon,” producers of the comedic feature have confirmed.

Now being shot in New Orleans, the film follows “a group of washed-up television stars and comic-book artists who make their living attending conventions,” a press release said.

“Down on their luck, the rag-tag team hashes a plot to rob the convention and bring justice to a crooked promoter and an overbearing former TV icon.”

The ensemble also includes Mike Epps, Maggie Grace, Russell Peters, Clancy Brown and CariDee English.

Malkovich’s credits include “Places in the Heart,” “In the Line of Fire,” “Empire of the Sun,” “The Killing Fields,” “Con Air,” “Ripley’s Game” and “RED.”
