LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) — Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts is set to star in a small-screen adaptation of Maria Semple’s novel “Today Will Be Different,” which takes place over the course of one very busy day.
Semple will write the limited series, which is being produced by Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, Variety reported.
“I’m giddy that Eleanor Flood will be brought to life by Julia Roberts and am elated to collaborate with Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle, and the team at Annapurna on this endeavor. This will be a fun ride!” Semple said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The network where it will air has not been chosen yet.
Roberts’ film credits include “Pretty Woman,” “Notting Hill” and “Erin Brockovich.” This will be her first role as a television series regular.
