LONDON, June 21 (UPI) — Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics upcoming superhero ensemble film “Justice League” now has an official synopsis.

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy,” reads the synopsis.

“Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

A new logo for the project along with the first look at the all-new Batmobile was also released to Collider.

Director Zack Snyder has also confirmed that his follow-up to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is now a stand-alone film that will not be told in two parts, however, a sequel still seems likely. Previously the team-up flick was titled “Justice League: Part One.”

“Oh, it is a complete movie,” Snyder said speaking with IGN while press was invited onto the film’s set in London where production has started. “You know, hopefully there’s some reason to go — the movie doesn’t end and you go, “Okay, well that’s the DC Universe!” he continued hinting at a sequel.

Starring Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) Ray Fisher (Cyborg) J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Amber Heard (Mera) and Willem Dafoe in an unspecified role, “Justice League” flies into theaters Nov. 17, 2017.

Jesse Eisenberg who portrayed Superman arch-nemesis Lex Luthor in “Batman v Superman” is also expected back, the actor stating in May, “I am in wait.”
