EDINBURGH, Scotland, Sept. 10 (UPI) — Author J.K. Rowling started a fan frenzy on Twitter Wednesday after she confirmed the correct way to pronounce Voldemort, the name of the main antagonist in the Harry Potter series.
Rowling revealed the little piece of Potter info responding to a fan who tweeted out to her, “One piece of Harry Potter trivia I always forget to mention: the “t” is silent in Voldemort, according to @jk_rowling.
“…but I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who pronounces it that way,” the Harry Potter creator responded.
As fans chimed in, it was discovered that Jim Dale, the narrator of the first two U.S. audio books in the Harry Potter series, had been saying Voldemort’s name the way Rowling envisioned.
