Feb. 10 (UPI) — Katie Holmes served as the host of the Red Dress fashion show in New York.

The 38-year-old actress attended the annual American Heart Association event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on Thursday.

Holmes stunned in a burgundy Marchesa dress with jeweled embellishment, and sheer and fringe detail. She shared two posts on Instagram of herself backstage, including a gif of herself doing a shimmy in her gown.

“#reddresscollection @american_heart @marchesa fashion @genevieveherr @djquintero @sloaney_77 #dressingroom #fringe #empowerwomen,” she captioned the clip.

Celebrities such as Lucy Lawless, Juliette Lewis, Bridget Moynahan and Jessie James Decker walked the runway at the show, along with heart disease survivors. The event aims to raise awareness of the dangers of heart disease for women.

“We are grateful to all of the celebrities and survivors walking in this year’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection for inspiring women world-wide to prioritize their heart health,” AHA CEO Nancy Brown said in January.

“The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement is honored to be a part of New York Fashion Week with Macy’s, to shine a bright light on women’s heart disease, both on and off the runway,” she added.

Holmes enjoyed an outing to Pacific Park in Santa Monica, Calif., with Suri Cruise, her 10-year-old daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise, and two of her nephews earlier this week. She shared photos from the trip on Instagram, including a picture of Suri on the beach.
