LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) — Kendall Jenner deleted her Instagram account without warning over the weekend.
The 21-year-old model and reality star disappeared from the social media site Sunday, leaving her 68 million followers confused and dismayed.
Jenner’s website and Twitter and Facebook profiles remain active. She recently discussed the cons of frequent and widespread social media use in the October issue of Allure.
“I find it offensive if you’re with someone at a dinner and they’re just sitting on their phone the whole time,” Jenner told the magazine. “I take that so personally. Like, am I not interesting enough for you to talk to me?”
“I definitely have close friends, and even some family members, who are so connected to their phone and can’t get off it,” she said before recalling a trip where sister Kylie Jenner “wouldn’t put her phone down.”
“I’m like, ‘That’s so crazy to me that you’re not experiencing this.’ That was the moment it kind of clicked for me. And I didn’t like it. So sometimes I delete Instagram or Twitter or Snapchat of my phone for a couple days,” the star revealed.
Jenner previously told Vogue that she likes to preserve a sense of “mystery” for her followers by not sharing “too many posts.” The star came to fame on her family’s E! series, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” and has since modeled for such brands as Balmain and Chanel.
