Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling & John Legend talk ‘La La Land’ with Gephardt Daily

SALT LAKE CITY, December 15, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Critics and audiences are raving about the new film “La La Land,” starring Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and John Legend.

The film is a throwback to the Golden Age musicals of the ’40s and ’50s which incorporated lavish production numbers, romance and music to move the plot forward.

Emma Stone, who plays Mia in the film, told Gephardt Daily’s Tony Toscano she really enjoyed the opportunity to sing, to dance and to work out those large production numbers.

Ryan Gosling not only had to learn to play piano, but play in the style of a gifted jazz musician — an accomplishment which took the better part of a year to complete. Gosling took the role of Sebastian, Emma Stone’s love interest in “La La Land,” because Hollywood rarely makes films like that anymore and he was convinced “that ship had sailed.”

Legend makes his acting debut in “La La Land.” Legend has won five Grammy Awards and took home an Oscar for his song “Glory,” which he shares with musician Common for the 2014 film “Selma.”
