Leslie Jones announces new Netflix comedy special for 2020

Aug. 9 (UPI) — Leslie Jones announced on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that she will be hosting a stand-up comedy special on Netflix that will be released in 2020.Jones told Kimmel on Thursday that she will be filming the stand-up in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 10.

“So y’all finally get to see what I really do,” the “Saturday Night Live” star said. “I mean it’s great to be an actress, but I’m actually a stand-up hardcore. That’s what pay the bills.”

Jones also said that she currently has no title for the special.

“I’m playing with the titles because the material is so close to me and I’m telling you guys It’s going to be so good,” she said.

The comedian voices the character of Zeta in animated sequel “Angry Birds 2,” which will arrive in theaters Aug. 16.
