LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 (UPI) — Lexa Doig will play Talia al Ghul on The CW series “Arrow.”

The 43-year-old Canadian actress confirmed her casting Wednesday on Twitter after The CW announced she will have a recurring role as the DC Comics character in Season 5.

“Whoa – I step away from Twitter for a little archery training and my feed blows up… #GoodFormPreventsThis #Arrow,” Doig wrote. “Been sitting on this for a little while… Now I can share my giddiness about it.”

“Sooooo excited to come out and play!!!” she added. “Because I go for the night – can I just say that #Arrow fans are AWESOME?! Seriously – thank you for the warm reception! I’m stoked.”

Doig will debut as Talia in Episode 10, according to The Wrap. The character is the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) and half-sister to Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), and an “elite warrior” in her own right.

Milli Wilkinson briefly portrayed a young Talia on the March 31 episode of “Arrow” and “The Flash” spinoff “Legends of Tomorrow.” Marion Cotillard also played a version of the character in the 2012 movie “The Dark Knight Rises.”
