Love Wasn’t Meant To Be Grey

50 shades

Who isn’t ready for an “Old Fashioned” love story?

With “50 Shades Of Grey” opening this weekend it has stirred up a lot of discussion as to what love is really supposed to look like. Another movie, “Old Fashioned,” also opening Friday, is in stark contrast to “Grey’s” ideals of love.

Playing only at the Megaplex 17 at Jordan Commons in Sandy, “Old Fashioned” appears to be an antidote to it’s more sexually explicit and highly controversial counterpart presenting a more idealistic message about life, love and relationships.

The movie is written and directed by Rik Swartzwelder, who also stars as the movies main character, Clay. Clay, a former frat boy, abandons his wayward ways in order to run a small antique shop where he meets a woman who presents him with ways in which he starts to challenge his own ideals.

Amber (Elizabeth Ann Roberts), is full of life and grace. She loves all things beautiful, and is as free spirited as they get. Clay on the other hand is a devoted Christian, and has become so focused on being “firm” about his own morality that his relationship with God could start to go awry.

“Old Fashioned” depicts a story that focuses on the struggles that real-life single people face as they search for love, all while still focusing on trying to honor God.

While it’s unclear how their worlds will collide, it looks like a love story made with a thousand shades of inspiration.
