LOS ANGELES, Nov. 5 (UPI) — Mariah Carey is returning to the “VH1 Divas” stage.
VH1 announced Thursday that the 46-year-old singer will perform at the “VH1 Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night” concert in December. The television special will film Dec. 2 at Kings Theater in New York and air Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. ET.
“I’m thrilled VH1 asked me to return to the Divas stage this year,” Carey said in a statement. “The ‘Divas’ special offers a wonderful opportunity to perform for my fans over the holidays, which is my favorite and most festive time of year.”
“Unsilent Night” marks the first “VH1 Divas” concert since “VH1 Divas 2012.” Carey previously performed at “VH1 Divas Live” in 1998 and at “VH1 Divas 2000: A Tribute to Diana Ross.”

Carey performed for the first time Thursday since her split from fiancé James Packer. The star serenaded fans at the Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue holiday window unveiling in Toronto, Canada.
“First the split didn’t seem to faze Mariah,” a source told People this week. “It was like she expected things to be fine soon. Now she realizes that things aren’t fine and not being with James makes her depressed.”
“[She] doesn’t want to sit at home and dwell on it,” the insider added. “She is very hurt that he dumped her. She knows she will never be able to find someone like him.”
Carey’s rep had told Entertainment Tonight in October that the couple, who got engaged in January after less than a year of dating, are “trying to work it out.” Carey last released the album “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse” in 2014.
