NEW YORK, July 28 (UPI) — Mary J. Blige and husband Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs are headed for divorce.

The 45-year-old singer filed to end her marriage to Isaacs, her longtime manager, on Thursday. The couple married in Bergen County, N.J., in December 2003.

Blige cited irreconcilable differences for the split and listed the date of separation as “to be determined,” TMZ reported. The star is asking the judge to deny Isaacs spousal support.

The “Be Without You” singer and Isaacs share no children, although Isaacs is dad to three kids from previous relationships. Blige had discussed the pros and cons of marrying her manager in an interview with the Telegraph in 2014.

“He always has my back — he’s going to fight to the death for Mary J. Blige,” she said. “The downside is that there’s no separation — it’s on all the time. When you don’t feel like answering to your manager, he’s still your husband.”

“If one of you doesn’t want to talk about something right now, you have to respect that,” the singer elaborated. “And you have to respect each other’s space.”

Blige released her 12th studio album, “The London Sessions,” in 2014 and released a soundtrack for her movie “Think Like a Man Too” the same year. “The London Sessions” includes the singles “Therapy” and “Right Now.”
