‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ cinematic trailer explores a new galaxy

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) — Electronic Arts and developer BioWare have released the first galaxy-spanning cinematic trailer for the next entry in their storied sci-fi series, “Mass Effect: Andromeda.”

The clip released Monday, features a new crew of space explorers as they embark on a quest to travel to the Andromeda Galaxy.

Taking place outside the original “Mass Effect” trilogy, “Andromeda” puts players in the role of either Scott or Sara Ryder, siblings who assume the designation of the Pathfinder who is tasked with colonizing new planets.

“The journey to Andromeda begins now. Navigate the uncharted reaches of the Andromeda Galaxy to unravel its mysteries, discover vivid alien worlds, and lead the charge to find a new home among the stars. How far will you go to become humanity’s hero?” reads the game’s synopsis.

New alien threats and towering monsters are also highlighted in the video as Ryder’s crew begins to unlock the secrets of the Andromeda galaxy.

“Mass Effect: Andromeda” is expected to launch for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC in spring 2017.
