NEW YORK, Oct. 6 (UPI) — Melissa Etheridge wrote a song after commenting on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s split Monday.

The 55-year-old singer performed the tune on Wednesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live” after reportedly receiving a “subtle warning” over her remarks about Pitt and Jolie’s divorce.

“There are people whose business it is, whose job it is, to kind of fix things for celebrities,” Etheridge said before claiming Jolie’s crisis manager, Judy Smith, gave her a call.

“I haven’t seen Brad in forever,” she pointed out. “Every time I say something, it gets out there and it gets turned around and twisted and all of a sudden [people think] I’m saying something about [Angelina].”

Etheridge had defended Pitt on Monday’s episode of “WWHL,” saying it’s “heartbreaking” for her to see the actor face “unfounded” child abuse allegations amid the split. She wrote the song “Fixer Blues” after Jolie’s camp reportedly took offense.

“Seems I said some things about an old, old, old friend that got some people talkin’. I know broken hearts, a thing or two about divorce. I’ve been there before once, okay, twice. And I have not seen my friend in over 10 years and I swear I have never, ever, ever, ever, ever met his wife,” the star sang.

“I tell you what, I ain’t pickin’ no fight. None of my business who’s wrong or who’s right,” she added. “Fixer, I hope you understand to scandalize was never my plan. Reminiscing I was flowing, I was just hanging with my good friend Andy Cohen.”
