LONDON, Nov. 9 (UPI) — Michael Bublé has canceled his scheduled performance at the upcoming BBC Music Awards on Dec. 12 to focus on his 3-year-old son’s cancer treatment.

BBC 2 radio made the announcement on Tuesday, just days after Bublé announced his son Noah’s diagnosis.

“We send Michael and his family our very best wishes,” said Bob Shennan, BBC Music director.

Bublé is scheduled to host the Brit Awards and the Juno Awards, both next year, but has yet to make a formal announcement about those appearances.

In a statement released Friday, Bublé said he and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, are solely focused on Noah’s treatment.

“Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well,” Bublé said.

Bublé and Lopilao, who married in 2011, also have a 9-month-old son named Elias.
