LOS ANGELES, Aug. 5 (UPI) — Miles Teller is reconsidering his future with the “Divergent” series.
The 29-year-old actor, who plays Peter Hayes in the films, admitted he doesn’t know if he’ll star in the forthcoming installment, “Ascendant,” given its move from theaters to TV.
“I’ve talked to nobody,” Teller told Variety at the New York premiere of “War Dogs” on Wednesday.
“When we all signed on for the first one we had every intention of finishing [the series] theatrically,” he explained. “We signed on for x amount of movies and you take that all into consideration … It’s moving into a different format. So who knows?”
News outlets had reported in July that Ascendant will skip theaters in favor of a TV movie. The move was largely attributed to underwhelming box office numbers for the latest “Divergent” film, “Allegiant.”
“[The news] caught us all surprise,” Teller told The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere. “At this point, it’s a different set of circumstances. We’ll see [what happens].”
