Oct. 5 (UPI) — “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown says Season 2 will be “a lot darker.”

The 13-year-old actress confessed in the November issue of InStyle that returning as Eleven in the Netflix series was “10 times” more “emotionally challenging” than Season 1.

“It’s a lot darker and more emotional and emotionally challenging for me, 10 times more than the first season,” she told the magazine. “Everything is explained.”

Season 1 ended with Eleven appearing to be trapped in the Upside Down, an alternate reality or dimension in the “Stranger Things” world. The show skyrocketed Brown and her young co-stars to fame, which the actress is still adjusting to.

“I can’t walk down a street or outside this hotel without somebody asking for a picture,” she said. “But there’s also the fact that I kind of asked for it, you know? I can’t blame it on my fans.

“You know, I’m just a 13-year-old like any other 13-year-old, so I just plan on living my life and take it step-by-step,” the star added. “Hopefully in five years’ time I will be in college. No, let’s say eight years … unless I get a really good movie.”

“Stranger Things” will return for a second season Oct. 27. Brown previously told Entertainment Weekly fans will learn “a lot more” about Eleven in the new season.

“It’s a big climax this season for Eleven and you’ll learn a lot more about her, and it’s gonna be very exciting, very unpredictable,” she said. “You don’t really find out what you want to find out, but then when you find out, you like it.”

“Stranger Things” co-stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin. Ryder confessed in the November issue of Marie Claire that she “may have gone too far” while playing Joyce Byers on the series.
