LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12 (UPI) — ABC series “Mistresses” has come to a close after four seasons.

Rochelle Aytes, who starred as April Malloy, confirmed as much Saturday on Twitter after media outlets broke the news the day previous.

“Mistresses” has unfortunately come to end of its road. Thank you to all the fans for supporting us! See you guys on the next journey!” the 40-year-old actress tweeted.

Word of the cancellation comes in the wake of the show’s Season 4 finale, which aired Tuesday, Sept. 6. The episode killed off original cast member Yunjin Kim‘s character, Dr. Karen Kim.

“Mistresses” premiered in 2013 with Aytes, Kim, Jes Macallan and Alyssa Milano as stars. Milano left the series after two seasons, and was replaced by Jennifer Esposito, who departed after Season 3.

Executive producer Rina Mimoun had told TVLine prior to the finale that she and showrunner Josh Reims were hoping for a fifth and final season. She said they were planning “one more year of story” while also seeking “a graceful way to wrap up the series.”
