June 14 (UPI) — Paris Jackson personally removed graffiti from a Hollywood Walk of Fame star honoring another Michael Jackson.
Paris, the 20-year-old daughter of late singer Michael Jackson, took action after someone defaced a plaque belonging to an 84-year-old radio host with her dad’s name.
The model and actress posted a slideshow Wednesday on Instagram of the star in question. The photos show the before and after effect of her work.
“some people have no [expletive] respect,” she captioned the post. “i understand that there is a difference between the radio emblem and the record, but a name is a name.”
Paris further explained her motivations on Twitter after a fan praised her for taking action.
“i was at my friend apt that lives basically next door this morning and another buddy of mine said he saw this last night,” the star wrote. “apparently it’s not his actual star but hey that’s still his name.”
“i don’t think it was intentionally targeted it at him,” she added. “but to me a name is a name and i couldn’t just hear about it and not go see it for myself.”
Paris’ dad died at age 50 in June 2009. The actress has since gotten a number of tattoos in his honor, and paid tribute to the singer on what would have been his 59th birthday in August.
“i will never feel love again the way i did with you,” she said. “you are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way.”
