Oct. 6 (UPI) — Peter Kraus will return to television on an upcoming “The Bachelor” spinoff.
The 31-year-old Bachelorette Season 13 runner-up will compete on the new show “The Bachelor Winter Games,” franchise creator Mike Fleiss announced Wednesday.
“Yes, Peter will be looking for love– and going for the gold– on #TheBachelor Winter Games!!!!” he tweeted.
Fleiss confirmed the show will feature “challenges, sports, competition and of course the toughest challenge of all – finding love,” as well as past contestants from international versions of “The Bachelor.”
“Sexy international Bachelors and Bachelorettes from the dozens of countries that also produce #TheBachelor,” he wrote.
E! News reported “The Bachelor Winter Games” will bring “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” alums together in Vermont to compete in winter-themed athletic challenges and look for love. The show will premiere on ABC in February 2018.
Many expected Kraus to be named the next Bachelor after Rachel Lindsay chose Bryan Abasolo on “The Bachelorette” Season 13 finale. Kraus reacted in September after Arie Luyendyk, Jr., was picked as the Season 22 Bachelor.
“As I sit here writing this, I struggle to hold back the tears as I am overcome with emotion one last time,” the star wrote on Instagram at the time.
“ABC, you saw something in me, but something held me back,” he confessed. “You treated me with such love and kindness and showed me glimpses of a life I never once dreamed that I could have.”
