SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4 (UPI) — Pokemon Go is hoping to reignite fervor over the game with a new update that offers daily bonuses for players who log into the game and play on a regular basis.

The newest update gives players a chance to earn more experience and collect some of the elusive stardust, which is used to power up Pokemon.

Players can now earn 500 XP and 600 stardust for catching one Pokemon every day. Additionally, the game now offers 2,000 XP and 2,400 stardust for catching a Pokémon seven days in a row.

The game now also rewards visits to Pokestops, with daily visits earning 500 XP and more items than before, and a 2,000 XP bonus for visiting a Pokestop seven days in a row.

Niantic, the game’s creators, have also made a change to the kind of Pokemon players will regularly encounter after complaints of too many Pidgey, Rattata and Zubat Pokemon.

“You may encounter other Pokemon where Pidgey, Rattata and Zubat were previously more commonly found,” Niantic tweeted Thursday.

Professor Willow has discovered that you may encounter other Pokémon where Pidgey, Rattata, and Zubat were previously more commonly found.

The update includes a change in which Pokemon are hatched from eggs, doing away with some of the “lower level” creatures.
