WEST MONROE, La., Oct. 31 (UPI) — Reed Robertson tied the knot with high school sweetheart Brighton Thompson on Saturday.
The 21-year-old “Duck Dynasty” star wed his longtime love at an outdoor ceremony with parents Jase and Missy Robertson and other family present.
“I have no words, just an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. Thank you, God, for your blessings. #ReedLovesBrighton,” Missy captioned a photo of the newlyweds on Instagram.
“Congratulations to the newest Robertson couple!!! I love you both so much and so proud of you and excited for you!” she captioned a picture of herself with the bride.
“Brighton it was quite the honor to stand by you… so thankful to have you as one of my best friends and now cousins!! #reedandbrighton,” she added.
Reed and Brighton had gotten engaged during a trip to New York in December 2015. The reality star updated his 262,000 Instagram followers Sunday, revealing his and Brighton’s honeymoon got off to a rough start.
“I married my best friend yesterday. Brighton and I’d first day of marriage has been, well, interesting. Got kicked off our flight at 5 am, ate Popeyes for lunch, saw a terrible movie, and missing 2 days of our honeymoon because of it and I couldn’t be more thrilled to adventure with you Brighton. Today and for the rest of my life,” he wrote.
Reed and his family have starred on the A&E series “Duck Dynasty” since 2012. The show, which completed a 10th season in August, co-stars Phil Robertson, Willie Robertson, Korie Robertson and other family members.
