“When Harry Met Sally,” “Stand By Me,” “Sleepless in Seattle,” and “The Princess Bride” are just a few of the films directed by Rob Reiner who will be shooting his next film, “Being Charlie,” right here in Utah beginning in April.

The Utah Film Commission is working with the director on several aspects of the filming process with the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development sanctioning a little more than  $265,000 in tax incentives for the production.

Last week Reiner’s casting agent began the arduous task of auditioning local actors and actresses for a few key roles in the film.

Rob Reiner, the son of Carl Reiner (Creator of TV’s “Dick Van Dyke Show”) began his career as an actor, gaining fame in the 1970’s on the hit TV series “All in the Family.”

Reiner also is known as a political activist, co-founding the American Foundation For Equal Rights.  Reiner is also an outspoken advocate on social issues such as violence and tobacco use.

Recently, Reiner had cameos on TV shows like “30 Rock” and “New Girl.”
