NEW YORK, Sept. 13 (UPI) — Renee Zellweger turned heads on the red carpet earlier this week.

The 47-year-old actress dazzled as she attended the New York premiere of “Bridget Jones‘s Baby” at The Paris Theatre in Manhattan.

Zellweger wore a strapless top and formfitting skirt featuring sumptuous floral embroidery. She paired the outfit with simple, strappy sandals and accessorized with a cocktail ring.

The “Bridget Jones” star was accompanied by her boyfriend, musician Doyle Bramhall II. Co-stars Colin Firth and Patrick Dempsey, who play Mark Darcy and Jack Qwant, were also present at the event.

“I saw a bromance between Colin and Patrick. I tell you,” Zellweger joked to People at the premiere. “Fast friends. Mutual respect. Lots to talk about. It was [a] fun, fun day at work.”

The premiere marked a rare red carpet appearance for Zellweger, who largely retreated from the spotlight after her 2010 movie My Own Love Song. The actress recently reflected on her disappearance in the July issue of British Vogue.

“I found anonymity, so I could have exchanges with people on human level and be seen and heard, not defined by this image that precedes me when I talk into a room,” she explained. “You cannot be a good storyteller if you don’t have life experiences, and you can’t relate to people.”

“Bridget Jones’s Baby” is a sequel to Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) and “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” (2004). The movie co-stars Jim Broadbent, Gemma Jones and Emma Thompson and opens in theaters Friday.
