LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14 (UPI) — Ricky Schroder and wife Andrea Schroder are calling it quits.

News outlets reported Andrea filed for divorce from the 46-year-old actor Friday, just weeks before their 24th wedding anniversary.

Schroder and Andrea met while the actor was filming “Blood River” and married on Sept. 26, 1996. The pair share four children: 24-year-old son Holden, 23-year-old son Luke, 19-year-old daughter Cambrie and 15-year-old daughter Faith.

Andrea, who cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, is seeking sole physical and legal custody of Faith, with visitation rights for Schroder. She isĀ also requesting spousal support and attorney’s fees.

Schroder had told FOX411 in December that his family has helped keep him grounded throughout his lengthy career. The actor came to fame as Ricky Stratton, the son of an eccentric millionaire, on the 1980s sitcom “Silver Spoons.”

“There’s many people that helped me along the way. My family, the support of my wife, to people in the businesses I’ve known for a long time,” he said. “I was a dad at 21. I had to work and be professional and provide for my family.”

Schroder is also known for playing Det. Danny Sorenson on “NYPD Blue.” He recently directed and produced the docu-series “The Fighting Season,” and will reprise the role of Dolly Parton‘s dad in “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.”
