BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Nov. 8 (UPI) — Actors Sean Astin and Paul Reiser have joined the Season 2 ensemble of the 1980s-set, supernatural mystery Stranger Things.
Astin is best known for his classic kids’ adventure Goonies and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, while Paul Reiser has appeared in the movies Aliens and Diner, and TV shows My Two Dads and Mad About You.

EW.com reported Astin will play a Radio Shack manager and childhood friend of Joyce and Hopper, played respectively by Winona Ryder and David Harbour. Reiser will portray a Department of Energy scientist.
Netflix recently confirmed Season 1 regulars Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery, as well as newcomers Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery, would appear in the sophomore outing of the show, which will start streaming in 2017.
