LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 (UPI) — Shannen Doherty has reached a settlement in the $15 million lawsuit she filed against her former business manager after she says he allowed her insurance to lapse.
Doherty alleges her manager failed to pay her insurance, which caused her to lose her benefits.
The lawsuit claims Doherty “discovered that she had invasive breast cancer metastatic to at least one lymph node.” The suit also says the actress “was informed that her cancer had spread during 2014 (when she was uninsured).”
Doherty revealed in early August that her cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and that she was going to undergo chemo and radiation.
“I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes,” she said.
The settlement amount was not made public.
