Shannen Doherty says she felt ‘blessed’ to take part in Stand Up to Cancer telethon

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11 (UPI) — Actress Shannen Doherty, who is battling breast cancer, says she felt “blessed” to be part of this weekend’s “Stand Up to Cancer” telethon.

“This night meant so much to so many people including myself,” she said in an Instagram post following Friday’s star-studded fundraiser, which aired on dozens of television channels.

“I’m forever humbled by the stories I heard tonight and the people I met. Thank you to all the amazing volunteers and crew that made this event happen. Thank you to everybody at @su2c who are so dedicated in trying to find a cure and give people with cancer better alternatives. I feel blessed to be a part of the cancer family tonight and to of witnessed such love.”

The 45-year-old, “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Charmed” star was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She has been chronicling her fight for her life on social media.
