LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 (UPI) — Shemar Moore appeared to address recent “Criminal Minds” drama in a video post Friday.
The 46-year-old actor, who plays Derek Morgan on the CBS series, discussed “karma” in the since-deleted clip after co-star Thomas Gibson was fired for allegedly assaulting one of the show’s writers.
“Lot of birdies chirping out there. The gossip is real. I hear it. I see it. I’m sure a lot of you do, too, so I’ll just say this — I believe in karma,” Moore told fans.
“Good things happen to good people. Honest people. Hardworking people. Humble people,” he said. “Treat people how you expect them to treat you. Celebrate yourself. Celebrate your blessings, as you should, but just know you’re not better than anybody.”
Gibson, who portrayed Aaron Hotchner for 11 seasons, was initially suspended from “Criminal Minds” last week for reportedly kicking a writer. CBS later announced that the actor would be permanently “dismissed.”
“I love “Criminal Minds” and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years,” Gibson said in a statement Friday. “I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now.”
“I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have,” he added.
“Criminal Minds” will premiere a 12th season Sept. 28. Moore is also known for playing Malcolm Winters on “The Young and the Restless” and Jesse Reese on “Birds of Prey.”
