LOS ANGELES, Nov. 27 (UPI) — Sylvester Stallone dropped out of “Godforsaken” less than two weeks before shooting was to begin, causing STX Entertainment to stop pre-production on the movie.

Deadline reported the development Saturday. TheWrap also confirmed the actor’s exit. The exact reason for Stallone’s departure was not immediately known.

Director Jim Mickle was scheduled to start filming the project in Atlanta on Dec. 5. Daniel Casey penned the screenplay about an aging ex-con dealing with the death of his estranged son.
