NEW YORK, Feb. 22 (UPI) — Taylor Swift has joined the group of celebrities rallying on pop singer Kesha’s behalf after a New York judge denied her injunction concerning her Sony Music contract, which would have allowed her to produce music under another label.

Swift donated $250,000 to the “Tik Tok” singer to mitigate any financial needs she might have during this troubled time.

“When Taylor saw the heartbreaking courtroom photos of Kesha, it was then that she knew she needed to do something,” a source close to Swift told Rolling Stone.

Many celebrities including Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Lorde and Kelly Clarkson tweeted heart-warming messages after hearing news of N.Y. Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich’s denial.

Lovato wrote in a series of tweets: “#FreeKesha. This is only gonna make you stronger, you brave and beautiful girl. Prayers are with you.”

The “Confident” singer also tweeted that she was “ready for self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women’s rights.”

Some fans took the message as a jab to Swift but multiple sources told the magazine that the tweet and the donation were unrelated.

Judge Kornreich also dismissed lawsuits filed by Kesha’s mother and manager that accused Sony Music producer Lukasz Gottwald a.k.a Dr. Luke of alleged sexual and drug-related abuse against the singer 10 years ago.
