LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31, 2015 — (UPI) — Pop star Taylor Swift was the big winner at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, taking home four prizes, including the top honor of Video of the Year for “Bad Blood.”
The star-studded mini-movie, which included rap vocals by Kendrick Lamar, also won for Best Collaboration, while Swift’s solo effort “Blank Space” earned the accolades for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
This year’s statuettes were re-designed by fashion designer Jeremy Scott. Scott doused MTV’s signature Moonman prizes with color, gave them peace-sign necklaces and attached wings to their feet.
Scott, who told Variety he was inspired by the test-color bars that years ago appeared on television screens when broadcasting ended for the day, also wore a similar, rainbow-hued suit to the awards ceremony, which was hosted by singer-actress Miley Cyrus.
