‘The Fate of the Furious’ tops the North American box office with $100.2M

April 16 (UPI) — “The Fate of the Furious,” the high-octane, action picture starring Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $100.2 million in receipts this weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 with $15.5 million is “The Boss Baby,” followed by “Beauty and the Beast” at No. 3 with $13.6 million, “Smurfs: The Lost Village” at No. 4 with $6.5 million and Going in Style at No. 5 with $6.4 million.

Rounding out the top tier are “Gifted” at No. 6 with $3 million, “Get Out” at No. 7 with $2.92 million, “Power Rangers” at No. 8 with $2.85 million, “The Case for Christ” at No. 9 with $2.7 million and “Kong: Skull Island” at No. 10 with $2.67 million.
