April 21 (UPI) — Fox has confirmed it ordered 10 more episodes of “The X-Files.”

“TheXFiles are opening back up…” the sci-fi mystery’s official Twitter account said Thursday.

The tweet contained a GIF of stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny with the show’s tagline, “The truth is out there” and the words, “Coming soon.”

Executive produced by creator Chris Carter, the series is expected to return during the 2017-18 television season. Production is set to begin this summer.

“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators — these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why ‘The X-Files’ has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” David Madden, president of Fox Broadcasting Company, said in a statement. “Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of ‘The X-Files.'”

The show originally aired 1993-2002. A limited-series revival debuted in 2016.
