LOS ANGELES, July 13 (UPI) — Tom Hanks is mourning the death of his mom, Janet Marylyn Frager.
The 60-year-old actor and wife Rita Wilson paid tribute to Frager on social media Tuesday after her death at age 84.
“This wonderful lady gave birth to my husband, and three other children,” Wilsonadded on Instagram. “Thank you for bringing my love into the world. She is at peace now.”
Hanks followed up by posting a picture of the State Theatre in Red Bluff, Calif. The actor’s mom lived in the city following her divorce from Hanks’ dad, Amos Hanks, in 1960.
“Red Bluff, California. Saw many movies here with our Mom. Thanks for all who came to see her off. Hanx,” the star wrote.
Frager was also mom to Hanks’ three siblings, Sandra, Larry and Jim. The actor’s dad died at age 67 in 1992.
Hanks himself is dad to four children: son Colin and daughter Elizabeth with ex-wife Samantha Lewes and sons Chet and Truman with Wilson. The actor will next star in the biopic “Sully,” out Sept. 9.
