LOS ANGELES, July 15 (UPI) — “Wonder Woman” is giving fans a fresh glimpse of Gal Gadot as the titular superheroine.

The DC Entertainment-Warner Bros. film released new photos of the 31-year-old actress as Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, on the Entertainment Weekly website Friday.

The set includes an image of Gadot in her red and blue costume as she draws her sword from its scabbard. Another features the actress with Chris Pine, who plays her character’s love interest, Steve Trevor.

Gadot debuted as Wonder Woman in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which opened in theaters in March. Her standalone film will open June 2, 2017, and is directed by “Monster” helmer Patty Jenkins.

“I feel like Diana is really accessible,” Gadot told EW. “It’s very easy to relate to her. She has the heart of a human so she can be emotional, she’s curious, she’s compassionate, she loves people. And then she has the powers of a goddess.”

“She’s all for good, she fights for good, she believes in great. I want to be her,” she added. “And in ‘Wonder Woman,’ she has this naiveté in her. It isn’t stupid, it’s magical. I would want to be naïve like that again.”

In the DC comics, Wonder Woman is an Amazonian princess and the demigoddess daughter of Zeus. The new movie will begin on the character’s “sheltered island paradise” home, according to an official synopsis released this week.

“When an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat,” the synopsis reads. “Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.”

Gadot will also play Wonder Woman in “Justice League,” which opens Nov. 17, 2017.
