You Know That Subaru Impreza Commercial? Here’s What’s on the Dog’s Bucket List

October 22, 2105 (Gephardt Daily) — The commercial is called “Dream Weekend,” and it follows a man (according to the cake at the beginning of the ad) who is celebrating his dog’s fourteenth-and-three-quarter birthday. “I’ve Loved You All Over the World,” by Willie Nelson plays as we see the pair accomplish a few things in their Subaru Impreza.

It’s obvious the two are very close and the dog has most likely reached an age where his owner feels some things can’t be put off any longer.

As this is one of my favorite commercials over the last few years, I was discussing the it with a few friends and our consensus was, although the spot is incredibly touching, the ad misses an opportunity to be even more endearing.

The list is partially crossed off, which tells us they have been on the road for a while.

But it would have been even more touching had Subaru produced three or four separate spots showing several items being completed in each ad.

Following the pair over the summer while they complete their bucket list would have been a heartfelt journey to be a part of.

As the spot finishes the dog and his best friend are on the beach, presumably the final item on the list and the owner’s final moments with his best friend.
