SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, March 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Saratoga Springs police have arrested one person in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries that occurred earlier this month, while two suspects are still at large.
Saratoga Springs Police Department posted on Facebook that a number of vehicle burglaries were committed March 13 in the Legacy Farms area on vehicles that were left unlocked with valuables such as wallets lying on the seat.
“The vehicle in the photo here was carrying the suspects that have been committing some of the vehicle burglaries in Saratoga Springs,” the post said. “Our officers identified the vehicle from a neighbor’s surveillance video. We have identified the primary suspect for this vehicle and are trying to locate and apprehend him. There are multiple suspects and they use different vehicles.”
Thursday afternoon, the Saratoga Springs Police Department posted on Facebook it has completed the investigation into the incidents.
“Our officers have positively identified the three suspects involved in the incidents,” the post said. “One of the suspects is now currently incarcerated in the Salt Lake County Jail and the other two suspects have absconded and are currently out of state.”
Formal charges against all three suspects are being filed. Warrants will be issued for those suspects not available for immediate arrest, officials said. Charges include three counts of vehicle burglary, one count of vehicle theft and one count each of unlawful use of a financial transaction card.
“The Saratoga Springs Police Department is very grateful for the assistance from multiple neighbors and to Walmart for providing video evidence,” the post concluded. “We ask our citizens to continue being diligent in securing their homes and vehicles to ensure our city continues to be a safe and wonderful place to live.”
