1 dead, 1 in extremely critical condition after West Valley City motorcycle crash

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, August 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — One person is dead and a second in extremely critical condition after an early morning motorcycle accident in West Valley City.

Police were called to the crash site near 5400 S. 7040 West about 1:15 a.m.

When first responders arrived, they found a female dead at the scene and a male barely clinging to life.

The male was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in delta minus condition.

The female victim was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Salt Lake City.

The victims’ names have not been released.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash and that the driver failed to negotiate a turn before loosing control of his motorcycle.
